Producer Jason Blumenthal revealed the creative approach to this, stating that 20% of the movie takes place on Earth and 80% on Eternia, allowing the film to showcase Eternia without compromising its most important elements. Earth is used as a spin-off to the main story, highlighting its importance and driving forces.
Masters of the Universe isn't as Earth-centric as it seems. Producer Jason Blumenthal has revealed just how much of the movie is really set on Earth, and how it impacts the wider story.
The premise of Masters of the Universe lays the groundwork of a very different origin for Prince Adam, who's sent to Earth at a young age for his protection. The film focuses on his return to Eternia 15 years later, reuniting with the Sword of Power, and becoming He-Man to take on the forces of Skeletor, who've conquered his former home.
During ScreenRant's visit to the film's set, Blumenthal revealed just how much of Masters of the Universe actually takes place on Earth. While Adam being hidden away on Earth is an important part of the plot, the majority of the movie takes place on Eternia
