The Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Green Fire Department responded to a report of a child hit by a car Friday afternoon.

GREEN, Ohio - The Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Green Fire Department responded to a report of a child hit by a car Friday afternoon. According to the sheriff’s office, at approximately 4:30 p.m.

, a child was struck by a vehicle on Peach Wood Way in Green. A 2025 Jeep Wrangler was traveling on Peach Wood Way when the 9-year-old boy ran into the street and was hit by the vehicle. The boy was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital by the Green Fire Department, where he was later pronounced deceased.Our hearts are broken over the loss of this young life. No family should have to endure such a devastating tragedy.
