Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-in’s new location in northeast Austin was recently robbed, according to a post on Facebook. The location at 500 VFW Road, just off I-35 north of Braker Lane, had its grand opening in September 2023.

This is not the first time Blue Starlite has experienced a devastating robbery. Now, they have officially been robbed at every location, the post said.Drive-in movie theater in downtown Austin temporarily closed after equipment was stolen “So yeah, we are pretty devastated that we took another hit and to be honest, we can't really take any more hits,” Blue Starlite said on Facebook. “We already were using the last of our working equipment as due to the previous robberies we no longer have back up equipment.” They ask for the community’s support on GoFundMe to replace the tech equipment that was stolen from the main office trailer. “Blue Ray players, iPads, laptops, projectors, all our cords and AV supplies,” Blue Starlite said. “We will be able to run a few screens at VFW this week and moving forward but until we can replace the main equipment lost we will be unable to add additional independent titles to our slate.”
