The band announced on Friday that frontman Steven Tyler won't be able to heal from injuries to his vocal folds and larynx in time to return to the stage..

Aerosmith fans hoping to bid the band farewell this year won't get the chance to experience the bittersweet emotion, as the legendary rock group announced last week it's retiring from touring. 'Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.

We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage,' the band said in a statement released on Friday. The band announced the 'PEACE OUT' Farewell Tour last May, but it was cut short when vocalist and frontman Steven Tyler, 76, suffered a fractured larynx and damaged his vocal cords, according to an October 2023 statement. All shows after that point were postponed. READ MORE: How and where to find the best vintage T-shirts in San Antonio San Antonio's Frost Bank Center was one of their planned stops. Tyler's vocal injury caused the show to be rescheduled from a Nov. 1 date last year to Nov. 3, in a few months. The rescheduled 40-date tour was supposed to start on Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh and also visit Austin and Dallas. The band's statement said tickets purchased through Ticketmaster would be automatically refunded, while customers of other vendors like SeatGeek or VividSeats needed to contact the sellers. The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
