DOTHAN , Ala. - Three Tuskegee University students will participate in the first student internship program at Dothan ’s Wiregrass Innovation Center. Tuskegee University , the city of Dothan and HudsonAlpha signed an agreement launching the internship program for Carver Research Campus at Wiregrass Innovation Center.
The three students will gain hands-on experience in research, entrepreneurship and economic development. Tuskegee President Dr. Mark Brown said the opportunity represents a full-circle moment because more than a century ago, George Washington Carver made his own mark on the region. “Our thought is that with the opportunity for these students, they too can come here and explore and learn and create in a welcoming community, but also in a beautiful new facility,” Brown said.“It means so much to us. And this is just the first piece with the internship that we’re having with our students that are going to be here working during the summer, inside our new building,” Saliba said.
