A 68-year-old Pennsylvania man has been arrested after police discovered his wife's body in an advanced state of decomposition, alleging he concealed her death for a month while acting as her sole caregiver.
A harrowing discovery has shaken the community of Lebanon County , where local authorities recently uncovered the decomposed remains of 66-year-old Sharlene Mikula inside her family residence on Timber Lane. The grim scene was encountered by police officers performing a welfare check on the afternoon of March 28th, following mounting concerns from the victim's family.
Upon entering the home, investigators were met with signs of severe neglect, including an overpowering odor of decomposition and swarms of flies, indicating that the woman had likely been deceased for approximately one month. Her husband, 68-year-old Michael Mikula, was present at the scene and subsequently taken into custody as the investigation into his wife's final days deepened.
