Additional findings released on Gulf World dolphin deaths

The report gives shocking details about the death of Samira, the fifth dolphin to die at Gulf World.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - A newly released inspection report published by the USDA shows Samira died after ingesting hard material suspected to be concrete flooring. The USDA report states, “Gross and histologic examination of the gastrointestinal tract revealed five variably shaped fragments of hard material suspected to represent ingested concrete flooring from the enclosure.

”Gulf World Marine Park may be permanently closed- its website has been deletedFollowing five dolphin deaths and concerns about the facility’s conditions, in June of this year, Gulf World’s remaining dolphins were removed from the park. Four rough-toothed dolphins were taken to Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
