To rescue the hiker, fire crews had to evaluate the steep terrain and cut through thick brush before conducting an “aerial high direction” rope rescue to get the stranded hiker back out. 3800 block of Discovery Park Blvd: All firefighters are safely on the ground. Crews are breaking down the rope system. Medics evaluated the patient. The patient refused transport to the hospital.
