NEW RICHMOND, Ohio - A father wants to see the people responsible for his son’s death spend the rest of their lives in prison.as special, and the two had a real best friend relationship. James Nelson not only lost his son, but also his best friend, on March 8.
, Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve announced Monday. Jayden Nelson was found dead on the side of Bethel New Richmond Road. Investigators initially thought Nelson had been hit and killed by a car, but later, an autopsy discovered he had been shot in the head. Prosecutors say Campbell and the teens went to meet Jayden Nelson, claiming they were going to sell him marijuana. Court documents show they instead robbed him and took his phone. Then, one of the teens shot him and left Jayden Nelson on the side of the road, according to court records.In court Tuesday, Campbell pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and aggravated robbery charges. A judge set his bond at $2,250,000. There is a long way to go in the court process, but James Nelson already has an idea of the punishment he would like handed down to those who killed his son, his best friend. “You probably wouldn’t be able to air my answer, so we’ll just say life in prison,” James Nelson said. As for the two teen suspects, one of them is behind bars and is due in court April 14. The other teen is not yet in custody. Both of the teen suspects face aggravated murder charges. Jayden Nelson’s roommate, Joshua LaVoy, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence in connection with the case.
