Officers have upped their patrols in certain neighborhoods after multiple burglaries occurred in the area over the short span of two months.
The first burglary Cumberland Township Police said happened in the beginning of June on Palace Dr. where over $400 was taken from a home.“It doesn’t really set in until you actually come home, and you see all the drawers being torn through and stuff thrown on the floor,” said Goodnow.One of the home's window screens was reportedly cut out by the burglar or burglars, who then entered the property.
Two other similar incidents were later reported in the nearby area on the 900 block of Boyds School Rd. where residents told police they also came home to their window screens having been cut out.The homeowner reported to officers that cash, jewelry, and paperwork were stolen. Law enforcement said the other incident was an attempted burglary that happened July 3 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.Following the three burglaries, Cumberland Township Police stated that patrols have been increased in both neighborhoods.This is a developing story, stay with CBS 21 News for more details as they come in.
