A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Bradford after his stolen motorbike crashed into a car while being chased by police. He managed to get up after the crash and ran, but was eventually caught and charged with dangerous driving.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Friday evening after riding a stolen motorbike which crashed into a car before the rider ran from the scene, it was reported.

Police spotted a suspected stolen motorbike while on patrol near Killinghall Road in Bradford at 5.03pm and gave chase. While racing away from the officers, the rider crashed into the side of a Vauxhall Corsa and was thrown into the air, landing heavily on the road. But after rolling over the rider, dressed all in black, got back to his feet and made to run from the site of the crash.

Seconds later CCTV from a nearby house showed the figure colliding with a post and being sent to the floor again. Police caught up and officers ran towards the rider on foot after he got up and ran off again. No serious injuries were reported after the crash. Officers reportedly arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of dangerous driving.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: 'At 5.03pm , officers on patrol sighted a suspected stolen motorbike being ridden by a male in the vicinity of Killinghall Road, Bradford.

'The bike was then lost from view and was subsequently found to have been involved in a road traffic collision with an Audi A5 and a Vauxhall Corsa in Killinghall Road. 'There were no reports of any serious injuries. The bike was confirmed as being stolen.

'A 17-year-old male was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving in relation to the incident and enquiries are ongoing. '
