Katie Price reveals her intentions to obtain an International Driving Permit to continue driving despite her seventh driving ban, amid her controversial marriage to Dubai-based businessman Lee Andrews.
Katie Price , the former glamour model and reality TV star, has once again made headlines with her controversial driving history. Just weeks after being banned from driving for the seventh time, the 47-year-old has revealed her plans to obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP) to continue driving.
This move comes amid her recent marriage to Dubai-based businessman Lee Andrews, 42, who reportedly gifted her a £180,000 Ferrari earlier this year. In a recent Instagram post, Katie shared her intentions, stating that she would soon be able to drive the luxury car despite her ongoing driving ban in the UK. An IDP is essentially a multilingual translation of a national driving license and does not serve as a standalone license.
This means that Katie cannot legally drive in the UK with her revoked license, even with an IDP. Her latest six-month disqualification was issued after she ignored police letters regarding an 80mph speeding ticket. Katie's driving record is extensive and troubling. Her first ban came in December 2010 for a speeding charge, followed by a one-year disqualification in 2012 for failing to respond to speeding tickets.
In February 2018, she received another six-month ban for speeding. The following year, in January 2019, she admitted to driving while disqualified, resulting in a three-month ban. Just a month later, she was convicted of being drunk in charge of a vehicle after her car veered off the road and hit a grass verge.
In 2021, Katie was involved in a car accident and admitted to taking drugs while driving, telling police at the scene, 'I took drugs, I should not be driving, I admit it all.
' This incident led to a two-year driving ban, 100 hours of community service, and up to 30 rehabilitation sessions. A judge at the time condemned her driving record as 'one of the worst I have ever seen.
' Finally, in 2024, Katie was fined £880 for driving without a license and insurance but managed to avoid an additional ban for those offenses. Despite her repeated legal issues, Katie remains undeterred. In her recent Instagram clip, she told followers, 'Hey guys, we are just going to the hospital to get my stitches taken out and then we are going to Lee’s dad for a cup of tea.
' She then revealed her plans to obtain an IDP, to which Lee responded, 'That’s the easy one, then you’ll see the car. ' The couple tied the knot in January, just 10 days after meeting, and held a second, legal ceremony, much to the shock and concern of her fans and family due to disputed claims about Lee's financial status.
Katie's marriage to Lee has been a topic of speculation, with many questioning the authenticity of their relationship and Lee's alleged wealth. Despite the controversies, Katie continues to share glimpses of her life with her followers, often sparking debates and discussions about her personal and professional choices
