Although the upcoming series is still in the early stages of development, it has the potential to be one of its genre's defining releases. Adapted from the iconic role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, Netflix's The Forgotten Realms is likely to feature protagonists inspired by some of The Lord of the Rings' best characters and have a distinctly similar tone to Game of Thrones.
The show will be based on the setting of the RPG and tell an original story not yet in print
