Tenants at Neal Terrace Apartments off Detroit Avenue say their units have been without gas for months, leaving them unable to cook or access hot water.

CLEVELAND , Ohio - Tenants at Neal Terrace Apartments off Detroit Avenue say their units have been without gas for months, leaving them unable to cook or access hot water.

Destiny Farris, a mother of two, said the gas stopped working about a week after Feb. 1. Destiny Farris showed a letter tenants received in December stating the bill for utilities would now go to the apartment complex, not each tenant. The change began on Feb. 1, and Farris, a mother of two, said the gas stopped working about a week after. Enbridge Gas has not responded to requests to confirm that amount.

A sign on the door of the onsite office says the office is being run remotely. Farris said building management has given tenants the run-around too. HUD has been contacted to see if they can penalize the property or arrange emergency move-outs for tenants.

“It would mean a lot, my kids can actually take baths again in their house, and not go to somebody else’s house,” Farris said. Olmsted Falls family-owned restaurant owner speaks on fire damagesSentencing for Cleveland woman who stabbed a man to death
