A Chilton County man has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of sex crimes against three children.
According to 19th Judicial Circuit District Attorney CJ Robinson, 34-year-old Charles Davis was convicted in February by a Chilton County jury of two counts of first-degree sodomy. Prosecutors said the charges involved a girl who was 6 at the time and a boy who Davis abused for two years beginning when the child was 7.
The DA said a third victim of Davis testified as a witness during his trial. She shared that he had sexually abused her from the time she nine until she was 11 years old. Circuit Judge Joy Booth sentenced Davis on Wednesday. Robinson said the girl first disclosed the abuse to a school counselor, who contacted the Alabama Department of Human Resources. The agency then reported the allegations to law enforcement.Charles Davis is another disgusting individual who was a danger to our communities, and his history of crimes against innocent children has now been stopped forever. He will never have the chance to touch another child. I feel confident the children he abused now have the structure and support around them to break the cycle of abuse that we often see repeat itself over and over.: Davis is known to have sodomized three children.
