Expressway 83 where a semitruck crashed into a home, the Mission firefighters union reported. The driver, 51-year-old Anastacio Martínez Jr., died at the scene, Torres confirmed. Sanchez was driving a Fiat when he made an unsafe lane change and collided with the truck, causing the 18-wheeler to veer off the road and into the house, Torres said. Sanchez was hospitalized with minor injuries. Another vehicle was involved in the wreck, but it was stationary and no one was inside, Torres said. Criminal negligent homicide is a state jail felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of two years imprisonment and up to $10,000 in fines. Sanchez was released Wednesday on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records.
