A man is dead after an apparent road rage shooting on Cleveland’s East Side early Monday morning.
According to a Cleveland Police report, officers first responded to the scene near Miles Avenue and East 95th Street after a shooting and car crash around 4 a.m.The driver of the Nissan had a gunshot wound to the head, according to the report, and first responders performed life-saving measures before taking him to the hospital.
On the scene, the passenger of the Nissan told police that they were traveling eastbound on Gaylord Avenue and tried to head southbound on East 95th Street when a black SUV blocked the intersection. The SUV driver said, “It’s a one-way anyway,” according to the witness. The Nissan driver tried to go around the SUV. When the Nissan was going southbound on East 95th Street, it was shot multiple times.
The driver was struck in the head while the car was still moving, and while the passenger tried to get control of the car, it struck the Red 2012 Jaguar SUV and then a building. Police said they found 10 spent 9mm casings at the intersection of E 95th Street and Gaylord Avenue. The Nissan driver, identified as Jabrail Adams, 37, of Cleveland, was later pronounced dead, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
