Dennis Lahr works at Hopewell Junior School

WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A 75-year-old school custodian for the second-largest district in Greater Cincinnati is under arrest and on unpaid leave amid a criminal investigation.

Dennis Lahr was booked into the Butler County Jail Thursday on two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, according to his criminal complaints and jail records. Lahr works at Hopewell Junior School on Cox Road in West Chester Township in the Lakota district, sheriff’s officials confirm to FOX19 NOW.

“There is no allegation that his conduct that is being investigated involves any contact with any student at that educational facility,” Gmoser told FOX19 NOW early Friday evening. According to the incident report, someone saw Lahr looking at obscene photos on a tablet, called the sheriff’s office to report it on April 14, and he destroyed the tablet.

His $10,000 bond has been posted, and he will leave the jail once he is fitted for an electric ankle monitor, according to the sheriff’s office. The case remains under investigation and is expected to go before a Butler County grand jury next week, sheriff’s officials say. The district found out the sheriff’s office was investigating allegations about the Hopewell custodian on Thursday, April 23, and immediately put the worker on paid leave, her letter states.

“This individual did not work during our regular school hours and has minimal interaction with students,” she wrote. “Upon learning that charges were filed yesterday, the individual was immediately suspended without pay. “This individual and their alleged actions do not align in any way with the values or character of Lakota Local Schools. As this is a personnel matter and the complaints have been under investigation by law enforcement, we are not able to provide further information at this time.

”The district also “will fully investigate any accusation or threat that is brought to our attention. ”Wooster High School mourns death of sophomore baseball player
