) - Complaints from concerned community members led the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to execute a narcotics search warrant in the Frisco City community and make arrests, Sheriff Tom Boatwright said.
The search warrant was carried out by deputies assigned to the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force as part of an ongoing effort to identify and stop illegal drug activity in Monroe County communities, the sheriff said. Deputies arrested Jeffery Williams and Nicole Jost after they were allegedly found in possession of trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with possession with intent to distribute.
Williams and Jost were charged with drug-related offenses, including trafficking in methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, officials said. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
“The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to responding to the concerns of our citizens and protecting our communities from the dangers of illegal narcotics,” Sheriff Boatwright said. “The deputies assigned to the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force work every day to locate and stop those who bring dangerous drugs into our neighborhoods.
