The City of Seven Hills shared the tragic loss of Fire Chief James A. “Jamie” Meklemburg, Jr., who passed away on Sunday at 47 years old.
SEVEN HILLS, Ohio - The City of Seven Hills shared the tragic loss of Fire Chief James A. “Jamie” Meklemburg , Jr., who passed away on Sunday at 47 years old.According to a post by the city, Meklemburg was a dedicated member of the fire service.
He began his career with the Valley View Fire Department, working part-time in October 2001 and becoming full-time in June 2006. He then served part-time with the Brooklyn Heights Fire Department beginning in September 2009, where he was later promoted to lieutenant on June 19, 2018. Meklemburg was sworn in on February 11, 2020, where he became the first-ever full-time fire chief of the Seven Hills Fire Department “During his tenure, he led the department with dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to public safety and service to the residents of Seven Hills,” the city’s post shared.Visitation will be held at Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Columbkille Church on Monday at 10 a.m., followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery.
