Officers from the Ravenna Police Department pursued a vehicle after man fled from a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
RAVENNA , Ohio - Officers from the Ravenna Police Department pursued a vehicle after man fled from a traffic stop early Saturday morning. According to police, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers stopped a 2012 BMW SUV in the 800 block of S. Diamond Street for driving and equipment violations.
Officers pursued the vehicle southbound on S. Diamond Street at which time the vehicle turned east on Summit Road. The BMW continued south on S. Prospect Street until it attempted to use the westbound ramp to I-76. After failing to negotiate the curve, the BMW flipped several times and both the driver and passenger were ejected, police said. The condition of the driver and passenger was not released by Ravenna Police.
The driver was identified as 33-year-old Sheldon Stone, of Cleveland, and had several outstanding felony warrants through Cuyahoga County. Stone is also facing numerous charges as a result of the pursuit incident, including failure to comply.
