Actress Brooke Shields recently opened up about her journey with cosmetic procedures and the societal pressures women face regarding their appearance. In a video shared by dermatologist Dr. Macrene Alexiades, Shields revealed that she underwent laser treatment to remove a tattoo on her brow that turned an unwanted 'orange' color after a microblading session. 'I'm so proud to report that the laser tattoo removal successfully removed the orange tattoo on her brow in only two treatments,' Dr.
Alexiades said. Shields also shared that she is 'almost finished' with another tattoo removal on her wrist. She explained that the original microblading experience didn't go as planned, and the ink bled, resulting in a yellow hue. 'These eyebrows have seen a lot of life and they need to be brought back to their original life,' Shields explained. Dr. Alexiades discussed several options for eyebrow hair regrowth, including injections containing a solution that stimulates eyebrow growth, topical treatments, and vitamins like biotin. The video also showed Dr. Alexiades using a Picosecond laser on Shields' eyebrows and wrist and injecting her brows with a steroid solution to promote hair growth.Shields also addressed criticism she receives on social media regarding her appearance. She recounted an Instagram Live encounter where a comment read, 'I really wish you looked the way you used to.' Shields responded with a question, 'Really?' She further reflected on the societal pressures women face, stating, 'The beauty industry wants us to chase youth, we look at regrets — what if, what if,' she said. 'And I think it’s important to understand where you’ve been, but I think it’s really joyous to say, ‘I may not know where I’m going but I’m here.’
