Free October festival will take place the same day as the University of Texas at San Antonio's homecoming game at the Alamodome.

Luminaria is going big this fall, with a move to St. Paul Square that will include the closure of Commerce Street and projections on the Alamodome . 'This came out of several conversations with people that said, 'Why not? Why not move it somewhere that could use a little bit of attention, that could use a little bit of love?' ' said Executive Director Yadhira Lozano . The annual contemporary arts festival will take place from 6 p.m. to midnight Oct. 19. Admission is free.

' Make plans: Patti Austin, Branford Marsalis headline the 2024-25 season at the Carver Community Cultural Center More than 100 artists will be taking part, including poets, filmmakers, musicians, dancers and visual artists. One of the big projects is a collaboration between Urban-15 and video artist Tim Walsh, who will present a blend of dance, percussion and visual spectacle that including projections on the Alamodome.
