ATLANTA, Ga. — A Delta Air Lines crew gained a passenger — actually a bundle of joy — on a recent flight to Portland.
Delta Flight 478 started off as a routine itinerary, leaving Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport about 7:40 p.m. Friday. Delta Air Lines said that a pregnant passenger, named Ashley, gave birth during a flight to Portland International Airport. Flight attendants, a doctor and two nurses that happened to be on the plane, rushed over to help the new mother, according to Delta.
Passenger and Atlanta resident Jess Cushenberry, who offered the new mother a blanket, praised the quick-thinking flight crew, who tended to the situation.
“They really did a great job of doing their jobs in keeping everybody calm and sorted and organized,” Cushenberry said.
