The plot of his new series follows Seiroku Akari, a cynical first-year high school student and dedicated member of his school science club. Akari is a staunch skeptic who prides himself on his ability to debunk urban legends through scientific rigor. His life takes an unexpected turn when he investigates The Moonlit Tales of Kokubunji, a series of five local stories revolving around powerful living curses. Driven by his desire to prove that these legends are merely folklore, Akari performs a specific ritual intended to break the seals of these spirits. Instead of debunking the myth, he inadvertently triggers the curse and finds himself haunted by the spirits who now have nowhere else to reside. This premise sets the stage for a unique blend of supernatural horror and slapstick comedy, as Akari is forced to cohabitate with the very entities he sought to disprove.
