Hypershell’s AI-powered exoskeleton boosts mobility and strength for outdoor adventures, weighing just 3.9 lbs and built for endurance.
A Chinese startup, Hypershell , is now retailing an AI-powered exoskeleton designed to enhance mobility, strength, and endurance for outdoor activities and daily tasks. Hypershell X exoskeleton is offered in models at different price points.
Each features a compact, rechargeable battery pack mounted on the waistband, designed to stay unobtrusive during use. The system weighs as little as 3.9 pounds , going up to 5.2 pounds for the base variant. All models are IP54 rated for dust and water splash resistance. The battery powers dual motors at the hips and supports lower body movement during hiking, running, biking, climbing, and lifting, helping to reduce effort and improve mobility. The Hypershell exoskeleton was one of the winners of the CES Innovation Awards 2025 for Best of Innovation in the Robotics category.Wearable mobility boostHypershell’s exoskeleton lineup includes three hip-worn models designed to reduce physical strain and boost endurance. The Go X delivers 400W of power, a 9.3-mile range, and cuts effort by 20 percent. The Pro X increases output to 800W, extends range to 10.8 miles , and reduces effort by 30 percent. The top-of-the-line variant, the Carbon X , offers the same performance as the Pro X but uses a lightweight titanium alloy frame, bringing the weight down to just 3.9 pounds .Powered by the M-One motor system, the exoskeleton provides up to 800W and 40 Nm of torque, offsetting up to 66 pounds of perceived weight. Hypershell claims the exoskeleton boosts leg strength by 40 percent while reducing physical exertion by 30 percent.“One of the biggest reasons we stop pushing ourselves is muscle fatigue. Over time, as your legs work harder, they burn through energy and become tired. The Hypershell X steps in to reduce the effort your muscles need to put in, helping you conserve energy and extend your endurance,” said the firm in a blog post. Redefining wearable mobilityAt the core of the Hypershell X exoskeleton is the AI MotionEngine, which uses over a dozen sensors—including gyroscopes, motion trackers, and air pressure detectors—to monitor your movement in real time. According to Hypershell, with just a 0.03-second response time, it adjusts power output instantly to match your gait, aiding with uphill climbs, fast runs, or heavy loads. The compact battery sits at the waist, staying out of the way while quietly powering the dual hip motors for seamless assistance on the go. To pair with the PowerSuit, Hypershell created the AeroFlex SoftSuit—a specialized garment built for lightweight support and optimal load distribution. Made with ten layers of composite materials and 4 mm, 10-layer composite padding for waterproof, breathable support. It delivers enhanced flexibility and reliable structural support. The system supports ten adaptive states, including walking, stairs, cycling, and gravel. With an IP54 dust and water resistance rating and a service life of 2,485 miles , it operates reliably between -20°C and 60°C. It’s 400 g battery offers up to 10.8 miles range and recharges to 50 percent in 35 minutes. Control and customization are available via the Hypershell+ app.“By delivering unmatched power, efficiency, and lightweight design, it’s redefining what we can achieve with the help of technology. Whether you’re an adventurer, an athlete, or someone looking to enhance your mobility, this exoskeleton opens up new horizons,” said the firm in a blog post.
