"And now, together with the Animecoin Foundation, we’re forging the next arc for anime ... Our mission remains the same: build the open anime universe." The token will be distributed with a heavy focus on community, with 50.5% of the total supply being allocated to the community, 37.5% of which will be fully unlocked at launch whilst an additional 13% "will be managed by ANIME holders through the future AnimeDAO to fund community incentives and initiatives."The move to release a native token follows Pudgy Penguins, which issued PENGU in December which now has a market cap of $1.87 billion.Oliver Knight is the co-leader of CoinDesk data tokens and data team.
