Every year fact-checkers celebrate and highlight their work on April 2. The event was started in 2016 by the International Fact-Checking Network at the Poynter Institute. This year, the director of IFCN is highlighting the recent challenges facing fact-checkers, including a loss of funding and attacks on fact-checkers and their organization.
