It’s the video school officials didn’t want you to see; a Summit County bus driver exploding in a fit of rage when a student gets to the bus stop late.

A Summit County bus driver caught on camera exploding in a fit of rage when a student gets to the bus stop late.Since then, we’ve been fighting to get a copy of the bus’s surveillance video in order to see the entire incident.

19 Investigates obtained exclusive video showing a Summit County bus driver’s alarming reaction after a student gets to the bus stop late. “Your stop drives at 6:39, do you need me to tell you how this works?” the driver can be heard yelling at a student. The incident happened on Hampton Knoll Drive in Akron on Feb. 27. When the student gets to the stop a couple of minutes late, video shows her stepping in front of the bus to get the driver’s attention. The driver then opens the door as the student steps on boardThe driver can be seen losing her temper and screaming at the tenth grader.Chayane says the driver’s actions crossed the line.Shortly after the incident,While doing so, they placed the driver on paid administrative leave.and her “use of inappropriate language was unacceptable and exacerbated the issue.” As a result, the district ordered the driver to complete training in de-escalation and student discipline referral writing.Meanwhile, 19 Investigates requested a copy of the school bus video. That’s when district officials sent us a letter denying our request, claiming they couldn’t release the footage due to state and federal student privacy laws. So, our attorneys challenged their decision, and the district finally gave us a copy in late July — four months after we requested it.“Get your sh** together!” yelled the driver.“You watch your mouth!” the driver yelled back. “This is an illegal stop!” It appears the driver then focuses her rage on the rest of the students as she stands at the front of the bus. “As for the rest of you, I cannot stop just because there’s a stop sign. Get it together! Next time I will have the police called and you will be arrested!”“Man, and even a tiny little bit of courtesy from you people, ‘hey, thanks for stopping’, but oh no, you got to have an attitude,” said the driver.Woodridge school officials tell us the driver is still working for the district and hasn’t had any additional incidents since.
