David’s Jewelers store manager Deborah Godfrey told Alaska’s News Source last month after the break-in that while Mixon caused significant damage — including a shattered front window — he got away with very little in value. Mixon reportedly tried to smash one of the stores showcases but failed to get through, Godfrey said at the time. “The only showcase he attempted to shatter had brass and glass, so sample pieces, and he wasn’t able to make it through the glass, but enough damage was done to that showcase, so we’ll have to replace that piece of glass,” she said.Anchorage police credited help from the Homer Police Department, as well as community members who called in with tips, for narrowing their search down to Mixon. Anchorage investigators are still searching for the vehicle Mixon used during his crime spree and said anyone with information can contact Anchorage police atCopyright 2025 KTUU. All rights reserved.
