Highlighted by Texas baseball commit Kayson Cunningham , Johnson High School signed nine athletes to Division I schools on Wednesday morning’s signing day. Cunningham initially committed to Texas in July, citing a connection with the coaching staff. “The moment I stepped on campus for my visit, I knew it was home,” Cunningham added. “The facilities, the field, everything about it. I just love it.
” Defensive specialist Allison Butrum signed with East Carolina, while setter Emma Gonzalez will be going to Colorado State University Pueblo. Outside hitter Ava Castillo also finalized her commitment to Juniata College in Pennsylvania. “It’s just so surreal because with some of these girls I’ve been playing with them since we were 12 years old, and it’s just so crazy to see our dreams become reality,” Butrum said.
