Amazon’s new Echo Show 5 is one of the smallest of Alexa smart displays. It has a 5.5-inch screen that you can place on a counter or shelf, next to your bed, or on a kitchen countertop without taking up much space. This newer model also delivers better sound quality than its predecessor, with clearer vocals and twice the low-end bass.

It also uses a faster Amazon AZ2 Neural Edge Processor and includes an additional microphone, enabling more accurate responses from Alexa. The Echo Show 5 can also serve as a remote for entertainment, voice calling, photo viewing, and managing smart devices in your home. Check out Amazon to get the Amazon Echo Show 5 for just $70, down from its usual price of $90. That’s a $20 discount and 22% off.

The 5.5-inch display makes it easy to see Alexa’s response to any query. You can also use their voice to create alarms and timers, and to check the local weather. The screen can also display security camera footage, stream Prime Video content, and display images from Amazon Photos. Improved speaker hardware delivers clearer vocals and deeper bass on this Echo Show.

That helps when the device is playing music, podcasts, audiobooks, or video audio from the screen. Alexa+ support is included with a Prime membership on compatible devices, and the faster processor helps with responses when you ask for information or start a routine. The extra microphone also helps the device better hear voice commands across the room. Devices in your smart home can be controlled with voice commands via Alexa, the touchscreen, or by scheduling routines.

This includes lights, thermostats, and video doorbells, so you can see who is at your front door right on the Echo Show 5’s display. The Show 5 lets you set up motion routines as well, so a sensor can trigger an action.

For example, it can automatically turn on a compatible light or start playing music as soon as someone walks into a room. The 2 MP camera supports video calls through Alexa contacts and other compatible Echo screen devices. Announcements can go to supported Echo devices in the same home, and Drop In can work as an intercom between rooms or selected contacts.

Privacy controls are direct and physical, with a mic/camera off button and a built-in camera shutter that physically blocks the lens. Ring owners also get support for viewing end-to-end-encrypted video on compatible devices. The Charcoal model uses fabric made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester yarn and aluminum made from 100% recycled aluminum. The device packaging is 100% recyclable, and the compact size keeps the screen visible without taking up much space.

At $70, down from $90, the Amazon Echo Show 5 brings Alexa responses, stronger audio, video calling, camera views, and smart-home control into one compact unit. Geekom’s Windows 11 Pro Mini PC Drops Further Than Black Friday, While Mac Mini Stays Full Price
