Anchorage students celebrated the last day of school Wednesday while parents focused on changes in the coming year.
Morning FastCast digital headlines for Wednesday, May 22, 2024.ANCHORAGE, Alaska - At Trailside Elementary School in South Anchorage, students hugged and high-fived Principal Heather Jones on Wednesday, the last day of school .Like other elementary schools in the district, Trailside is looking at big changes next school year, including moving sixth-grade students to middle school. Jones said the change will mean fewer people in the building next year.
“We’re not excited about it, I don’t think it will be beneficial for our schedules,” Karaina Magana said. Magana has two students at Trailside.
