Alabama softball continued its winning streak , securing its ninth consecutive victory on Sunday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium. The Crimson Tide defeated the UAB Blazers 6-3 in the final game of the T-Mobile Crimson Classic . Despite falling behind early, Alabama rallied to overcome a 3-0 deficit and emerge victorious. UAB jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first inning.
However, the Crimson Tide responded in the bottom of the second, tying the game at 3-3 with a combination of hits and a bases-loaded walk. The score remained deadlocked until the fifth inning, when a leadoff double by Abby Duchscherer set the stage for an RBI groundout, giving Alabama its first lead of the game at 4-3. Alexis Pupillo further extended Alabama's lead in the sixth inning with a two-run home run, contributing to the eventual 6-3 final score. Audrey Vandagriff stood out for Alabama at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a ground-rule double and two stolen bases. Abby Duchscherer also had a strong performance, recording two hits and continuing her recent streak of multi-hit games. With her two-run home run, Pupillo increased her team-leading RBI total to 21. Jocelyn Briski (4-5) earned the win in relief, while Alea Johnson closed out the game with back-to-back strikeouts, securing her first save of the season. Four pitchers saw action in the circle for Alabama throughout the game.
