A crash involving a Metro light-rail train and three vehicles in Watts left two people injured, authorities said.

A crash involving a Metro light-rail train and three vehicles in Watts on Tuesday morning left two people injured, authorities said. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority A Line train and the vehicles collided shortly before 8:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of East 114th Street, near Wilmington Avenue.

Officials said 148 people were onboard the train at the time of the collision. They deboarded the train and were expected to be transported from the scene on buses after being medically evaluated by firefighters. Rail traffic on the Union Pacific Railroad line, adjacent to the Metro tracks, was shut down as a result of the incident.

"Trains will resume operations at the discretion of Metro Rail Operation Center following their investigation," the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement.
