The mother of a murdered 16-year-old Glenbrook South High School student is calling for charges to be filed against the boy she believes killed her daughter.

The shooting happened around 11 a.m. March 28 in the 3600 South Salem Walk in unincorporated Glenview, which is in the area of Salem Walk Apartments, the Cook County Sheriff's Office said. Officers said they found the teen with a gunshot wound.
First responders did CPR on Bova and took her to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where she later died. Bova's mother, Christine Maga, spoke to ABC7 Sunday, nearly two months after the shooting. She said a 16-year-old boy turned himself in to police after the shooting, but was allowed to go free because of his age.
"Justice for Lilly Bell means holding this person accountable for their actions, someone she trusted, with no respect for her life, walking around and enjoying his," Maga said. The Cook County State's Attorney's office released a statement Sunday, saying in part that the investigation remains active and charging decisions are made after a full review of evidence.
