Sunday, May 17, 2026 1:41PMA Waffle House in Northwest Harris County was closed and surrounded by crime scene tape, as deputies said they were investigating a potential stabbing on Sunday morning.
Deputies said a fight broke out between an employee and 5 or 6 customers at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday at the restaurant on West Little York near Fry in the Katy area. According to investigators, words were exchanged before a fight broke out, ending with one employee injuring one of the customers. Deputies said the employee was also injured, and deputies are considering it a case of self-defense. The Waffle House was closed for several hours as deputies investigated.
