The weekend weather in Chicago is making a warm backdrop to several sold-out events, including Bruno Mars' 'The Romantic Tour' at Soldier Field and the Crosstown Classic Series on the city's South Side.

Summer-like weather is back in the Windy City this weekend with events happening around Chicago. The weekend weather is making a warm backdrop to several sold-out events, including Bruno Mars' "The Romantic Tour" at Soldier Field and the Crosstown Classic Series on the city's South Side.

However, more potential scattered storms and showers could arrive late Saturday, but they were not expected to have too much of an impact on plans earlier in the eveningBoth Chicago White Sox and Cubs fans piled into Rate Field for the second game of the Crosstown Classic Series, with temperatures into the 80s literally making for a heated rivalry. The first game of the annual baseball clash brought a full house to Rate Field Friday night.

The Cubs took game one of the series, 10-5. Music and warmth coated those who gathered at what's called the premier summer kickoff at May Fest in Lincoln Park.

"It's one of those things if you walked in having a bad day, you're going to leave having the best day," said Luke Mooney, who moved to Chicago from Ohio. "You walk in - look at these guys playing. They're having such a good time. I've seen the same people sitting on their chairs, waiting for everything to happen.

Everybody's smiling.

" Bruno Mars took to the big stage at Soldier Field for the first of two nights of his sold out The Romantic Tour. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. both days.

"We just had to do the red for the album cover, then I had to find gold jewelry, and I had to ask my parents for their jewelry," Bruno Mars fan Almae Uy said. "Wear something for good weather, like, prepare for it," 13-year-old Bruno Mars fan Jayden Dedeaux said. "And, I would say, if you're not coming here, where are you at? What are you doing?

" Sunday will be a repeat of all of the same events. That's when Bruno Mars will headline the second night of his Romantic Tour in Chicago, and May Fest and the third game of the Crosstown Classic will wrap up on the same day.
