Sunday, April 26, 2026 4:54PMA man who is part of a class-action lawsuit against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is free and back home as advocates speak out against his recent arrest.
Isaac Villegas Molina was released from Adelanto Detention Center in San Bernardino County Thursday night, one week after a second arrest. Supporters say his detention is linked to his participation in a lawsuit alleging that ICE raids are unconstitutional. Rep. Judy Chu joined Molina's supporters Friday in criticizing conditions at the Adelanto facility, which they described as inhumane.
"Isaac is feeling sick right now. It's because he came from Adelanto. This is a place with a horrific record," said Chu.
"Since the start of Trump's second term, five people have died, either in Adelanto's custody, or shortly after being transferred from it. " The Department of Homeland Security responded by calling Molina a "criminal illegal alien," saying he overstayed an expired tourist visa by 13 years. Molina was first arrested last June. He was later released on bond after a judge determined he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk.
