After initially committing to the Nittany Lions in August 2024, Spell pulled his pledge from Penn State this past October, hours after the school fired longtime coach James Franklin. Georgia emerged as an immediate contender for Spell, hosting him for a late-season visit in November and again over the first weekend in February.
