"Texas state legislators, if you are listening to Teneshia Hudspeth, we need some support," Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth said."I know sometimes voters say, 'Why can't you combine them all in one day?' Well, because the constitution doesn't allow for it. Primaries can't be combined with special elections. Uniform elections can't be combined with other elections," she explained.Next week, early voting will start for the Houston City Council District C runoff.As of 3:40 p.m. on Monday, the clerk said 179 people had voted, which is .08% of eligible voters.Just for an idea, Clerk Hudspeth said the 2024 presidential election cost Harris County taxpayers $17 million.
