Wednesday, April 15, 2026 12:59PMTwo multi-million-dollar homes in the San Fernando Valley were burglarized within minutes of each other Tuesday night, prompting an investigation by police into whether the break-ins are connected.
The burglaries occurred less than 2 miles apart in Valley Village, with the second happening about 15 minutes after the first, authorities said.
Investigators are also examining whether at least one of the incidents could be linked to a similar burglary spree in the Valley over the weekend.
Officers responded responded around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday to a two-story residence on Hatteras Street near Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Burbank Boulevard. Resident Osnat Miyara discovered damage and missing items after receiving alerts from her alarm company shortly after 9 p.m. 'I said, 'Disregard it,' but then they called two minutes after and they said that they hear that the back door sensor is on, so I said, 'Uh oh,' she told Eyewitness News.
'The house was black. No light at all, which is usually .... we have lights outside,' she said. 'He walked the stairs and he saw some part of my jewelry is on the stairs.' Broken glass from a shattered sliding glass door remained at the home the next morning.
Miyara said a neighbor provided surveillance video showing two people leaving through the front door shortly before she arrived. Police are investigating several home burglaries in the San Fernando Valley that happened within the span of 24 hours this weekend.
'The neighbor gave us some video of two people leaving the house from the front door, maybe a minute before we came. That is scary,' she said.
'I can't even think of it, but again, I'm trying to look at the better half,' she said. 'What can I do? I'll fix it and we'll continue living. When asked about her outlook, she added, 'What can I do? What can I do? It happened already.''
'I did what I could. I had an alarm, I tried to be safe. I guess ... if they decide to do something, they will do it any way,' she said.
Break-in near Magnolia Boulevard and Colfax Avenue Earlier Tuesday, officers were called to a home near Magnolia Boulevard and Colfax Avenue. Intruders possibly broke in through a back window, which a worker was later seen boarding up with plywood.
