Another day, another system-wide delay on BART, which has been plagued by a series of problems over the past few months. 'It's not supposed to be like this. I've ridden BART ever since I was a little kid and it's never been like this,' said one rider.
Wednesday, April 15, 2026 6:27AM'It's been an hour and 38 minutes,' said Thaddeus Tolbert. On Tuesday night, hundreds packed the Embarcadero Station in downtown San Francisco after an equipment problem and a disabled train caused a systemwide delay during rush hour.

It's something that customers say they are growing very tired of. Those problems include trains filling with smoke, fires near stations and a slew of technical issues.
Kimberly Hart says Tuesday was the first time she'd taken BART since the pandemic. But she says Tuesday's delay has left her with a bad impression. 'It really does. I knew that it would be kind of a gamble actually to take BART. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do in the future. But, for right now, I think I might just be taking my car to work,' said Hart.
