A 10-year-old boy was killed and an 18-year-old man critically injured in a fire in the Washington Heights neighborhood Monday morning, Chicago police said.

The family said 10-year-old London Woodard lost his life to this fire. His 18-year-old brother, Mikah Glass, is currently at the hospital, fighting for his life.
'The mother and father were upstairs and they were asleep and they were downstairs,' Robert Harris, the victims' grandfather, said. 'She was in the front yard saying her kids were inside the house and she was crying - that's all I head from her,' neighbor Tiwanna Connolly said.
'I lost my 10-year-old grand son and my 18 year old other grandson who has cerebral palsy, but the 10 year old they found him on the couch with smoke inhalation. the only thing that burned in the house was just the couch,' Robert Harris said. Family and neighbors stood outside for hours staring, watching as firefighters clear the damage of what's left.
The family is now trying to move forward after losing a boy that was full of life. 'He just played a basketball game yesterday, he 15 points, 15 points.. He was a little basketball star,' Robert Harris said. While they wait for news about their other child, who's in a wheelchair and in critical condition at a hospital.
The family said that investigators are looking into the outlets that were behind the couch to see if a problem there is what started the fire. Related Topics
