Click here to watchShe was then found dead Tuesday in the basement of her Roseland home near 107th Street and Lafayette Avenue.Relatives said Works had lived there with his mother for the last few months. Michael Works said his brother had been to prison, but had turned his life around, even writing a book and owning his own digital company."Kevin had a temper," Michael Works said. "Everybody knows he has a record. It's there. It exists. Kevin is in his 60s. Now, you know late 60s, so he did not. It was the last thing on my mind that he would lift a finger against our mother. The very last thing when I speak to my mother every day, she never, ever, ever mentioned that." Investigators told Michael Works his mother's body was found wrapped in a sheet and a rug in the basement of her own Roseland home. As the family grieves, Daniest Graves is being remembered as a church-going woman, who loved helping people. She received her college degree in her 80s and had just started a part-time job working with the community.
