City Council President Kenyatta Johnson and several other council members heard from their constituents.Many spoke out about inadequate school funding, and concerns over a new property assessment for homeowners. "If you keep pushing us out because of increased assessments, but yet you give these developers all these breaks, what are you doing for your citizens?" said Crystal Tann-Roberts from West Philadelphia. "We want to make sure we have tax relief for homeowners here in the city of Philadelphia," said Johnson. "So, we are going to take a deeper dive in looking at any type of assessment that would increase property taxes. We want to make sure that the homeowners are protected, so that is something I am very concerned about."
