El incendio fue reportado poco después de las 10 a.m. en el hospital Adventist Health White Memorial, ubicado en el 309 de West Beverly Boulevard. Según el Departamento de Policía de Montebello, se registró un incendio en la sala de emergencias que fue extinguido poco después. El hospital informó a Eyewitness News que un "pequeño incendio" se originó en una sala de descanso. Video de AIR7 mostró camiones de bomberos en el lugar y lonas de triaje instaladas afuera del hospital, mientras los equipos de emergencia atendían el incidente. Al menos un paciente fue visto recibiendo atención médica en el suelo. El hospital indicó que algunos pacientes fueron trasladados a su centro de Boyle Heights, aunque no reveló cuántos.
