There is an effort to keep kids safe. More than 100 young people showed up for a highly organized bike ride in Hayward on Saturday."So all we do is we gather up together as a big community, and we all ride out as one, and just show off our tricks to other people in public.

Yeah, that's about it. We just show our tricks," said Alejandro, one of the organizers. The goal is to create a safe and respectful place to carry on the tradition of what's dubbed "bike life." "We're just here to host a rideout to bring the positiveness back and to show, what really what bike life really is in a positive way," he said."Before we ride out. Today, we're gonna make another announcement. Please be respectful to the community. We just here to ride," said Antwan Shelbou, one of the organizers. Riders showed up from across the Bay Area and beyond for Saturday's ride, making their way to San Lorenzo. "I think it's important because it just shows everyone a big group, everyone like, get like a little friendship group, you know what I'm saying? Like, you get your little team going to like, you get your jerseys and stuff," Hayden Hunter, a Modesto resident. "I started going to rideouts like this and met a lot of cool people who, just, you know, were just showed me love and brought me and showed me how to ride and do what they do. And, it's just been a fun journey," Lamont from San Jose. The organizers of this event have also hosted a rideout in San Francisco and one in Oakland, so far, keeping them peaceful."We clearly want to demonstrate our talents with our bike riding, but at the end of the day we need to share with your youngsters what are the rules. It's an opportunity for us as adults to make sure our youngers follow the procedures and laws we have in place," Noel Gallo, Oakland City Councilmember. The organizers of Saturday's event hope this is just the start. The plan is to host more rideouts like this in cities across the Bay Area.United and JetBlue raise baggage fees: What to know
