The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects in a brutal 2023 murder in Altadena.

Friday, March 20, 2026 7:50PMThe Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects in aThree years after 27-year-old Anthony Daniel Ursitti was shot in the head inside his family's home, no arrests have been made but investigators hope new surveillance video will help change that.

That footage shows four suspects in dark clothing walking on the sidewalk outside the victim's home just after 2 a.m. on March 22, 2023. Shortly after, detectives say the suspects entered the home through an unlocked door. A homicide investigation was underway after a man was found fatally shot at a home in an upscale neighborhood in Altadena. Ursitti was asleep when he woke up to the four suspects threatening him with a firearm. He was shot while in bed, and the suspects fled the scene. Ursitti later died at the hospital. Ursitti's father joined detectives during a press conference Thursday and urged for the public's help. "We have suffered. We think about this daily," said Richard Ursitti. "...If you know anything at all, we ask that you please come forward and help bring justice to this tragic loss that we've been dealing with.""Investigators discovered that the victim had a social media platform business regarding the sale of psilocybin mushrooms. That, along with possibly money, is something that's suspected that may have been looking for inside the residence," said Lt. Michael Gomez. The shooting happened at a home inside a gated community on Owen Court, and was destroyed by the Eaton Fire in 2025. "Coming up on three years and, again, dealing with the loss of our home and the hope of rebuilding, but we ask for your help," Ursitti said. Investigators are hoping someone saw the suspects flee the scene. During the press conference, they showed a photo of a hoodie they believe one of the suspects seen on surveillance video wore. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the department's Homicide Bureau at 890-5500. Anonymous tips may be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 222-8477.
