m. and has prompted major delays for trains on the Friday afternoon commute. The West Oakland station remained closed as of about 4 p.m. though transbay service is still operating because trains are going through the station on the opposite tracks, BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said.BART has temporarily suspended Green Line and Red Line service to help mitigate the flow of trains, he said. Weary train commuters were also encountering delays further east on the system because of an equipment problem on the trackway at the Orinda station.
